were moving … to a new blog.

I have been having problems with my hotmail account being hacked and sending spam. this blog is under my hotmail account and i can’t shut down my email account with this blog still being active. it wont allow me to make this blog under a new email address so long story short.. we just decided to start a new one. it will be privatized in a month or so. comment or email me or facebook us your email so when all is done you will be invited. i tried to privatize awhile ago and had problems with people being able to view the blog – wish me luck this time around.

As is it says on the side bar - this blog is going to be the truth about our life. The ups and downs, these may not always be happy posts but i will try to always have something positive. I am trying to learn to speak my mind more and not beat around the bush. I have a quote on my fridge that says the following " Don't feel guilty about the choices you make that are best for your family. SO i need some help.. I want to paint it black and do something funky with the top. If you have any ideas please help!! Something I have thought of doing but have no idea how to do it is: paint the top part white and put pictures on the white background then apply glass over top?? Im not sure how i would go about making that look nice. Please HELP!!!

i know Ive blogged a million times but i just rekindled my love with this artist. if you don't love this let me make an appointment with a psychiatrist for you. just kidding but seriously check his other songs out too.

falling asleep.

 

I just ordered these online hoping we can create some kinda regime for this little boy. lately he has to be rocked to sleep, secretly i love this but in all reality it creates problems for needing to go out and do anything. so im hoping that if i start playing this when he starts to go to sleep that he’ll get use to hearing it. thus allowing us to eventually just turn it on when he’s tired and he’ll just fall asleep. also that we can just take a cd with us in the car and it will help him fall asleep instead of pulling over and swinging his car seat in the air.

quitting facebook?!

{this isn’t meant to offend anyone}

We are thinking of quitting facebook. I am so tired of seeing so many negative comments about one’s life. I want things to be positive and uplifting in our lives. When I am having a hard day with being a new mother nothing is more depressing then seeing someone’s status that is negative about motherhood. This may seem harsh but I can’t stand when people put negative comments about their kids or spouses. yes i have only been a mommy for 7 weeks now but even before i had levi it drove me nuts. i wish i could comment and say keep that to yourself, but instead i guess we might have to just quit facebook.

I truly enjoy blogs and i have found so many that i follow that truly inspire me to be creative, a better wife/mother, a seamstress and anything i want to be. The only thing that stops us from quitting is that there are a lot of cousins who live far away and its the only way we communicate. Yes I am ranting but I am so tired of finding out family news on facebook or hearing the latest gossip. Its frustrating when your news is announced through facebook and you never got to tell people. SO here’s my test to see how many follow our blog, what i want you to do is just comment, even a HI will work. if it comes up anonymous just say “HI {name}”. We are just loving this little man more and more. We are constantly learning things, its quite the trial and error process. We are learning how we have to make decisions that are best for our little family.

Right now we’re trying to learn what’s best for this little guys tummy and health. Were experimenting with formula to see if it helps with his poor tummy. He seems to be feeling better, much better! He sleeps for more then 30 mins at a time and isn’t constantly crying. So if anyone has any advice or suggestion on tips with easing from nursing to formula. Also how to help the pain of not nursing. Why we are switching things up is that nursing hasn’t gone well, so i have been pumping for the last 3 weeks. My supply seems to not be able to keep up with the chunky monkey’s needs. Also for the past week he never seems to be satisfied after a feeding, makes me wonder if he doesn’t get enough nutrients?  So calling all moms please help!

Its starting to get so chilly around here. Fall is on its way, i can’t complain. our pumpkins are growing and i can’t wait to decorate the house for fall.

Levi 5 weeks old. He’s starting to smile and giggle now. He can follow us with his eyes. His hair is starting to change into an auburn color, we will see if it lasts??

Dave now has some time to relax before school starts. He was done work last friday and now he is getting ready for school. I love when school starts back up. Means a routine comes back into our lives! As soon as Dave got off work we packed up the car and headed out to edmonton. we did it in 7 hours! Our little man is an amazing traveler. On our way up we only had to stop twice to feed and on the way back only ONCE. what a guy!! We went up for our nieces baptism. It was so cute to see how proud she was of being baptized. She had the biggest smile on her face all day! My awesome sister in law let us stay with her while we were up there. Her little boy (2 years old) just loved levi. He always let us know what he was doing “wittle webi  sleeping” or “webi is awake”. It was so cute how he called him Webi.

While in edmonton we decided to make it our summer vacation. It wasn’t anything spectacular but it was really nice to just take 4 days off and relax with family. For FHE we went swimming at West ED Monday night. It was so fun! Levi was born to love the water. he did so well! He almost stayed awake for the 3 hours we were there. It absolutely wore him out, he slept the whole night!! WOOHOO!

this might seem weird or creepy but im still gonna blog it...

i had a bittersweet moment this morning. first i have to explain that levi likes to be held in the weirdest positions he hates being cradled or being rocked. he likes to have his legs bent or being bounced high into the air. weird i know! well this morning he started to whine a little and i picked him up and just put him in the cradling position so i could grab his soother and blanket when all of a sudden (insert drum roll) he stopped fussing. so i just kept rocking him ahhh such a mothers bliss when a baby falls asleep in your arms. while i was rocking him i looked out the window to see the ambulance at my next door neighbors house. i have only talked to Mary twice since we have lived here. I feel like i know her tho, maybe because i make up stories about her life. she is probably 70ish and lives by herself. there is a man that comes over quite frequently and they like to sit at the dinner table to chat. i have declared this man to be her boyfriend, its probably her brother but a bf is much more exciting to me. he mows her lawn for her every week, doesn't that seem more sweet as a boyfriend?? anywho this is going somewhere i promise. it was so sad to watch them roll her out to the ambulance ( yes i was a noisy neighbor and watched between the blinds ). here i was having such a moment with levi and forgetting about all my worries and stresses, forgetting that the world still moves on. its kinda an aha moment as oprah would call it.
i get so wrapped up in my world of all my stresses and worries, when i could have been doing service for others. im gonna make her a dinner when she gets home and take it over, you can hold me to it!
so thats my bittersweet moment, my baby asleep in my arms and my neighbor going to the hospital. it might seem weird or creepy but it gave me an AHA moment.

Oh how my world has changed. I absolutely love it! Dont get me wrong when i have had 2 hours of sleep 4 nights in a row and its 4am and its the 3rd feeding of the night im not thinking i LOVE this. Im thinking its gonna get better i know it! for the past 2 days i have ventured out of the house by myself for more then just 10 mins. i have such a huge fear of having a screaming baby in a store so if i can’t time levi’s feedings and naps just right i dont go out. im trying to over come this fear. so needless to say im so PROUD of myself for doing 2 days in a row! we are also spoiled that levi can breastfeed and bottle feed, we know not alot of babies will not do this. YAY for Levi! here’s a picture of him looking way to big for being a month old today.

 

secondly:

For those of you who are close to me know that since i have been on mat leave i tend to do everything with my sista! in 2 weeks she will be moving to edmonton and it makes me so sad. Im happy that they are moving so her hubby can finish school and hopefully come down and teach here :) BUT. .  we have both been on mat leave and being such domestic divas! we would even do our errands together. I wish we would have taken pictures of us do all our sewing projects together and crafts. this is a super old picture but i love it! THANKS for being such a great sister!

 

 

I dont know what i will do with all my time now? Maybe clean more :) i’ll miss ya lots!
