success / milk / check up.

Yesterday was Levi's 8 month check up and it was so good to see he gained back the weight he lost after being sick. He's now 19 lbs 1 oz and 29" long. That puts him in the 25% for weight and 90% for his height. What a little string bean. No wonder all the 6 month clothes are too short but all the 9-12 month clothing fit length ways. We got the go ahead to start homo milk and it thrills us beyond belief! Formula is stinkin' expensive but the best part is that it should help Levi start to want food more then his bottle. Formula has so many calories that it's filling Levi up that he's never hungry enough to want to eat. So we're hoping that this will give us some more oppurtunites to get him to want to eat food.          but..... HUGE SUCCESS this morning!!!! I don't know why but Levi gags on everything, even if its pureed. Ive been trying so many things to get him to try different textures. He ate 1/2 a carrot muffin this morning!! Seriously made me so excited! Yesterday I tried some and he just kept gagging on it. It stresses me out because he seems to hate eating and I try to make it fun and I can't seem to get him to want to eat much lately. So this morning gave me a flicker of hope that I will not be pureeing his food in 5 years.
haha goofy kid, this is pineapple. he hated it!

We love these faces!

the house visit.

Our family is so big that it takes quite awhile to call everyone to let them know how things are going and since everyone follows the blog, you're getting updated this way.

Last night was our house visit from an officer. Wasn't as scary as I thought it was gonna be. It was only one officer and he was in uniform but not a patrol car. So not as intimidating as 5 officers all in uniform showing up in patrol cars. Which was a huge relief I was so nervous! The officer asked us a bunch of questions about how we grew up, what our families are like, is there anyone who's violent in our family? My favourite question was do you have any crazy ex's that we should be aware of? What considers crazy ??
The best part of the evening was finding out that they are down to 13 applicants and are hoping to hire 10 or more. WOOHOO! Our chances are really good. We are trying so hard not to get our hopes up! The officer said he says this to everyone, but if you don't get hired don't be upset and reapply! You'd pretty much be guaranteed a job next time. Right now they have people they want but it comes down to experience, confidence, are they already trained, and education etc.. So we will know next week what gonna happen! Thanks again for all the support we get through this process!

200th post.

If Dave doesn't get hired on for his good looks and charm then
it better be because our house is S.P.O.T.L.E.S.S.

Seriously since we got the phone call yesterday morning that the Police were coming for a house visit I have been scrubbing, cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, de-junking, and re-arranging non stop! So if you've been wanting to come for a visit now is the time, our house is all pretty. It wasn't messy to begin with but I took this as a perfect opportunity to deep clean. I'm hoping that by spring cleaning it will help spring come!

8 months.

This has been quite the month for development:

- trying to self feed

- eating on the go.
 - cooking with mom.
- discovering electronics are more fun then toys.
 - you look cooler with shoes.
- how to crawl

tooth 3 & 4.

They are official through! The funny thing is they aren't the middle ones. He may look like this guy:
for awhile but its kinda cute! Hopefully it won't be too painful for those middle ones to pop through now.

want a quick and easy treat ?

Waffle Brownies.
-1/2 C margarine           -1 Tsp Vanilla
-7 TBSP Cocoa             - 2 C Flour
-1 1/2 C Sugar               - 1/2 Tsp Salt
-4 Eggs                           - Chopped nuts (optional)
...
Melt margarine; add cocoa then set aside. Beat eggs, add sugar and vanilla. Add the chocolate mixture, flour, salt and nuts. Preheat waffle iron. Drop teaspoons, 4-5 at a time. Cook 1 minute. Ice with chocolate frosting while warm.

Mine had to cook from 2-3 mins just keep checking. Also don't put a ton in or you'll have a HUGE mess :) trust me!

So scrumptious! My sister brought these over the other night. YUM!!
An update on LEVI: We spent half the night in the ER and today he seems to be on the mend. Thank goodness! He had a few tears today and 2 wet diapers, this is huge progress compared to how dehydrated he has been.
An update on DAVE: This Thursday he meets with the Psychiatrist (everyone has to) to go over their Psych test. Then we just wait for the call.

30 day challenge .... to be continued.

I'm gonna have to do the challenge at a later date. We've been in and out of the ER for the past 3 days and the longest stretch of sleep I have gotten is 2 hours. Hopefully the munchkin gets feeling better soon, its so hard to see them so sick. I thought he might be getting better last night and then he woke up with a terrible cold. POOR KID! I haven't cleaned in 3 days or even cooked a meal so i would feel guilty spending lots of time on the challenge. Just wanted to update those who have been calling as well. Have a great weekend!

March / Numbers / School

I can't wait till April -
That may sound super negative but its not, here's why:   3 more weeks until the LRPS make their decision on who will be hired on. So our life is in such limbo! We don't know what or summer will be like. They have started background checks and he has an appointment with the Psychiatrist on the 17th ( everyone has to meet with him before being hired ). Its getting so close! But somehow it feels so far away!

Its our 3rd anniversary this month and I've been thinking alot about numbers, here they are:

                                               - Obviously married 3 years.
                                         - Owned our house for 20 months.
                                                                 - Have a 8 month old.
                                        - Known each other for 40 months.
                                                                - Lived in 5 different places together.
                              - I have lived in Canada for 12 1/2 years.
             - Dave has been home off his mission 3 1/2 years.
                                                                   - Owned 4 different cars.
                                                                      - Have 2 kitties.
                                                                     - Have 19 nieces and nephews.
& a lot of love for each other.

Im VERY excited to think of the prospect of going back to school. We have been discussing quite a bit of me going back to school!! IF Dave gets hired on I will be going back to school later this year. I am so very excited. I hope to be taking Medical Assistant at Reeves College. They offer an accelerated 2 year program into 9 months. Its Mon-Fri 1-5pm. I can't wait. The reason its an IF is because we both can't be in school and pay for daycare/babysitting.

 ( Can't have a post without a picture.)
tub time.

battle wounds.

The biggest scrape.

Goose egg.

We had an exciting weekend. I learned I am not as brave as I thought and Dave is way braver then me. He handled this like a champ! The life guards seemed more shook up then he was. I'm sure the Taber Aquafun Center will be checking that the diving board’s new resurfacing was done right. Were glad to say the x rays came back and his spine and neck are good. No concussion! He came home from the ER with a clear bill of health! Thanks goodness, it freaked me out more then it did for him.

This kid loves to be naked! But its okay, he’s pretty cute!

teething isn't for wussies.

Were dealing with tooth number 3, poor kid just cries and cries.
On a happier note he's just about crawling!
