Telus Spark - Levi's birthday activity

Over the last few years we've started to do birthday activities instead of big birthday parties. We showed Levi a few options to do for his birthday this year and he picked the Telus Spark Science Center, I think it was the huge slide that convinced him to go. There's a dinosaur exhibit there right now and it ends Sunday, so Dave happened to have Thursday off so we went early! Im so glad we went, Levi loved the dinosaur exhibit. We've never been to the spark before and I wasn't sure what to expect. Its quite expensive and I couldn't find coupons, but in the end I think it was worth the money. We ended up being there for 4 hours, which was a perfect amount of time. Will was past nap time and did so good, he was asleep within minutes of leaving.

Wills newest smile. ha! And of course, it became a sword.

Before heading into the Dinosaur exhibit.

Not sure who had more fun playing, Dave or the boys. Each display allowed the kids to interact with the dinosaur, some had pulleys, wheels and even xbox controllers to move the dinosaur.

Learning about how rivers are made.

Pure JOY!

Dave helped both boys climb the tower to be able to do the slide. Will needed help with the whole thing but Levi only needed help up the first rope ladder. They loved the slide! You can see that they are adding more behind them to the playground, should be really fun when its all done.

They had a table out with all different parts and tools to play with. Levi was in heaven!

And Will just loved it for the "swords" aka the screw drivers.

They have a smaller children's museum part that was so fun for Will.  I didn't get any pictures of the boys in the big playground but there was lots to do in there, I'm glad we did it last. Don't think they would have wanted to leave if we went there first.

This perfectly sums up Levi for the whole day, he just bounced from one station to the other.

Will was soaked after the water table! Thankfully it was hot out and he dried quickly.

The boys have asked several times to go back since, so all in all a great day!

32 weeks.

8 months, already? Or is it, more of a "thats it"?? I can never decide if it's going faster or slower. I want it here so badly but at the same time Im ok with some more time of just us with 2 kids. Three kids is intimidating!

At my last OB appt she said she wanted to schedule me in for another ultrasound to check growth of baby. I haven't gained any weight and i feel way smaller. Don't look smaller but baby just feels small. Its hard to describe but she isn't kicking my ribs or pushing on my pelvis. I still sleep on my stomach and don't feel that uncomfortable feeling yet. So in my mind I thought it was cause baby was small...

Get to my appt last week and saw the nurse an she asked how I was doing, took my weight/height and BP. Then continued to talk to me about why I was there, apparently I was on track for a big baby. It took me by surprise, I really was convinced that this was a smaller baby. Everything feels different. I took Levi with me, he's been wanting to see pictures of baby sister. Sadly the tech rushed through the whole ultrasound and didn't show him anything. She was quick. Then we were sent to a consultation room, I was feeling quite stressed about it because I have never seen a nurse and a doctor at an ultrasound.

The doctor came in and explained that I was on track for a big baby, at 31 weeks she was over 4lbs, most babies are still between 3-3.5lbs. He showed me a graph of where Levi was for weight when he was born and where Will was, she was above it. I was quite upset, there is nothing wrong with a big baby. I pushed out a 9lb 10oz baby already I could do it again. I was just frustrated that I was convinced she was a smaller baby. This week I had my OB appt and she told me that according to the measurements and charts I was on track for 11-12lb baby. Not a 9-10lb like I had understood. I passed the gestational diabetes test but she's concerned for why I am on track for such a big baby and has me going back and doing the big test this week.  She also talked about an elective cesarean if baby keeps growing at this rate. Its an 85% chance of moms who have an emergency c-section if baby is bigger then 11lbs.

I have another ultrasound for 37 weeks to check growth of baby and then Dave and I will have to make our decision from there. Im really hoping its a huge error, because I still feel like she's small. Or maybe she's still just tucked into a tight little ball. Im trying to just be glad this is the worst news we were given, there is so much worse we could have been told.  We did see some chubby cheeks on the ultrasound, so that makes me excited to have some chub to kiss when she's born.

32 weeks:

-kicking and moving more
-heads down
-have the name picked out, just can't decide between 2 middle names
-if I eat watermelon she goes crazy
-still having lots of braxton hicks
-ankles starting to swell.
-triumphantly still sleeping on my stomach
-set up baby's bassinet in out room & getting ready
-not feeling huge... ha! yet!
-still love the smell of wet laundry

UPDATE: I did the awful, no seriously awful second glucose test. After 12 needles and 2 finger pricks they finished 3 blood samples over 3 hours. I got the results and passed the diabetes test.

Busy busy busy.

How come Sunday afternoons are always so crazy... Wrestling with dad!

Trimming wills hair, turned into a buzz. He is sooo wiggly and hates getting his haircut. The boys are ready for summer now!

Went fishing down at bow lake at the Wyndham and Carseland campground. It's soo nice there, we'll have to try the campground sometime.

Afterwards we headed out to Chesteremere beach. It was perfect. The boys sat and played forever, no fighting. The water is kind of divided off so it makes it so easy to just sit back and enjoy and let the boys play. Can't wait to go again!

The face of pure joy.

I had another ultrasound to check baby's growth and took levi with me. He wanted to see baby sister. Levi loved the waiting room, he sat doing the maze forever.

Levi started playing soccer last week! It's a bit chaotic, kids just running everywhere and kids crying. Poor Will was so mad, he kept saying "mom, I kick the ball just two minutes!" So hard for him to watch and not get to play.

Levis been obsessed with catching caterpillars and bugs. He found this butterfly and just loved watching it.

This past weekend it was daves moms 60th birthday party. They leave for navuoo this week so we got to be there for the setting apart as well.

Dave set the tent up for the boys and him to camp, ha! The boys lasted till 10pm before we brought them inside. So much giggling and some crying. We all slept in the pilots lounge and poor Will woke up so confused in the night and crawled into bed with Dave.

In between breakfast and the birthday dinner half the family went hiking. I was wayyy to sore from sleeping on the couch I could barely walk, let alone hike. So Will and I stayed in town and played and got ice cream.

Our hiker, he is just like his dad!

Two peas in a pod!

Everyone that went hiking! What a fun big group! That's only half of daves family!

We've been so busy it seems like time is going fast. I feel like we're cramming in so much before baby girl comes. This weekend Dave has a 5km run with his sisters in Red Deer and the weekend after is the Roberts Reunion. Then my birthday and getting ready for Levis birthday! Also we've slowly been getting ready for baby girl, we've got the first name picked and middle name down to two choices. Everything's washed and folded, bassinet set up and deep cleaning has begun.
