Is it possible for our 2 1/2 month old to be teething? Here’s the symptoms:
- 2 little white bumps on the bottom gums.
- constant crying & crankiness.
- sparatic eating & sleeping & bm’s.
- always sucking on his hands.
- so much drool.
hmm? were unsure if this is the dreaded teething stage. i just think he may to small for this but he seems to have all the symptoms. When did your kids start teething? When did th tooth finally poke through? besides tylenol or a teething ring did you find anything to help ease the pain?
I have been trying my darnest to stay positive these past few months. Having a baby is a huge adjustment. I am learning so much and adjusting to my new life. here are a few things ive learned these past few months:
- a smile can make night feedings delightful.
- an outfit is not complete without puke.
- nobody’s kid is as cute as yours.
- changing your own kids bum is way different then changing someone else's kid. its not as horrible.
- your food will always be cold by the time you get to eat it.
- getting ready takes at least an extra 20 mins.
- not having your hair pretty and make up on while grocery shopping isn’t the end of the world.
- a screaming kid in a store is ok. happens to the best of us
- i love the e-a-s-y program. EAT- ACTIVITY – SLEEP – YOU.
- keeping my house clean oddly enough is a huge excitement for me.
- i have maybe had 15 naps since he was born and im surviving.
- having other mommy friends is a must!
- even when he is screaming i love him to death!
- everything sags now but i’d do it all over again… well not for at least another year and a half.
- birth is one of the most spiritual experiences you and your spouse can go through.
- i spend half my day on the floor reading books and playing. its my favourite thing to do.
- as much as you try to teach your 2 month old “momma” its not gonna happen…. one day, one day it will happen.
- having a kid permits the weirdest people to talk to you.
- you can have as much fun dressing up a boy as you could having a little girl.
- i love watching my parents be grandparents. Levi is # 3 and its so fun to see how he lights up his grandpa.
- getting a sale on diapers or formula is the greatest thing next to fresh peach crisp.
- cuddles with dave mean more, they are special because its rare when one of us isn’t holding levi.
- i love that families can be eternal.
- its an internal struggle whether i want him to start crawling, eating solids, talking … cause then that means soon he wont be my baby.
- levi loves me for me. he doesn’t think im a terrible dancer, he actually enjoys it. he giggles, okay so maybe he thinks im a terrible dancer but he does love me.
- this may be mean to others but: i love it when levi is crying and they hand him to me and all he wants his mommy’s cuddles.
- any show about kids being hurt or abused im in instant tears. i dont understand how someone can do that!
Im trying to see the light in everything. i love levi and dave with all my heart and know all these changes are worth it. Im trying to be brave and do things that seem scary for me. Yesterday i took Levi swimming all by myself. Yes that is a huge feat for me.
Life has changed as i know it and i wouldn’t want it any other way.
okay so we may be braggin a bit but what can we say when we think we have the smartest kid?? Here’s what bubbs is upto lately:
- can sit up in his bumbo
- a rolling machine
- smiles about 90% of the time he’s awake
- only wakes up once in the night (usually)
- grabs at objects
- loves his nighttime cuddles
- turning the tub on instantly calms him, he loves the sound of water
- he loves being in the water even more
- knows he has mom and dad wrapped around his finger
- daddy can make him giggle like crazy
- now stays awake (most of the time) for 8-10 hours in a 24 hour period.
We can’t believe how fast he is growing up. It doesn’t help that he's rolling and sitting so early!! Makes me nervous my baby will be crawling by Christmas!! Speaking of Christmas… Dave and i are making our presents this year and i need some ideas.
What was the best homemade present you received or heard of?
I have been having problems with my hotmail account being hacked and sending spam. this blog is under my hotmail account and i can’t shut down my email account with this blog still being active. it wont allow me to make this blog under a new email address so long story short.. we just decided to start a new one. it will be privatized in a month or so. comment or email me or facebook us your email so when all is done you will be invited. i tried to privatize awhile ago and had problems with people being able to view the blog – wish me luck this time around.
here’s the new blog:
Check out our free beauty, okay so shes not a Ferrari but very close.
So you can see she doesn’t really match our living room, but then again what does? Its such a disarray of colors!
Check out the chunky legs with some awesome detail.
SO i need some help.. I want to paint it black and do something funky with the top. If you have any ideas please help!! Something I have thought of doing but have no idea how to do it is: paint the top part white and put pictures on the white background then apply glass over top?? Im not sure how i would go about making that look nice. Please HELP!!!
P.S. Check out this 8 week old stud muffin:
I just ordered these online hoping we can create some kinda regime for this little boy. lately he has to be rocked to sleep, secretly i love this but in all reality it creates problems for needing to go out and do anything. so im hoping that if i start playing this when he starts to go to sleep that he’ll get use to hearing it. thus allowing us to eventually just turn it on when he’s tired and he’ll just fall asleep. also that we can just take a cd with us in the car and it will help him fall asleep instead of pulling over and swinging his car seat in the air.
Whats something you did/do to help your babies fall asleep?
{this isn’t meant to offend anyone}
We are thinking of quitting facebook. I am so tired of seeing so many negative comments about one’s life. I want things to be positive and uplifting in our lives. When I am having a hard day with being a new mother nothing is more depressing then seeing someone’s status that is negative about motherhood. This may seem harsh but I can’t stand when people put negative comments about their kids or spouses. yes i have only been a mommy for 7 weeks now but even before i had levi it drove me nuts. i wish i could comment and say keep that to yourself, but instead i guess we might have to just quit facebook.
I truly enjoy blogs and i have found so many that i follow that truly inspire me to be creative, a better wife/mother, a seamstress and anything i want to be. The only thing that stops us from quitting is that there are a lot of cousins who live far away and its the only way we communicate. Yes I am ranting but I am so tired of finding out family news on facebook or hearing the latest gossip. Its frustrating when your news is announced through facebook and you never got to tell people. SO here’s my test to see how many follow our blog, what i want you to do is just comment, even a HI will work. if it comes up anonymous just say “HI {name}”. This way we can follow your blog and keep in contact. Or leave us your email address. Here’s ours daveandnysha@gmail.com . We really want to stay in contact with our friends and family.
ps. to those curious about how the formula is going with Levi let me show you :

We are just loving this little man more and more. We are constantly learning things, its quite the trial and error process. We are learning how we have to make decisions that are best for our little family.
Right now we’re trying to learn what’s best for this little guys tummy and health. Were experimenting with formula to see if it helps with his poor tummy. He seems to be feeling better, much better! He sleeps for more then 30 mins at a time and isn’t constantly crying. So if anyone has any advice or suggestion on tips with easing from nursing to formula. Also how to help the pain of not nursing. Why we are switching things up is that nursing hasn’t gone well, so i have been pumping for the last 3 weeks. My supply seems to not be able to keep up with the chunky monkey’s needs. Also for the past week he never seems to be satisfied after a feeding, makes me wonder if he doesn’t get enough nutrients? So calling all moms please help!
WARNING: overloaded with pictures of one cute baby!
Its starting to get so chilly around here. Fall is on its way, i can’t complain. our pumpkins are growing and i can’t wait to decorate the house for fall.
Levi 5 weeks old. He’s starting to smile and giggle now. He can follow us with his eyes. His hair is starting to change into an auburn color, we will see if it lasts??
Playing the wii with Dad.
Dave now has some time to relax before school starts. He was done work last friday and now he is getting ready for school. I love when school starts back up. Means a routine comes back into our lives! As soon as Dave got off work we packed up the car and headed out to edmonton. we did it in 7 hours! Our little man is an amazing traveler. On our way up we only had to stop twice to feed and on the way back only ONCE. what a guy!! We went up for our nieces baptism. It was so cute to see how proud she was of being baptized. She had the biggest smile on her face all day! My awesome sister in law let us stay with her while we were up there. Her little boy (2 years old) just loved levi. He always let us know what he was doing “wittle webi sleeping” or “webi is awake”. It was so cute how he called him Webi.
Levi eating his first grape :)
While in edmonton we decided to make it our summer vacation. It wasn’t anything spectacular but it was really nice to just take 4 days off and relax with family. For FHE we went swimming at West ED Monday night. It was so fun! Levi was born to love the water. he did so well! He almost stayed awake for the 3 hours we were there. It absolutely wore him out, he slept the whole night!! WOOHOO!
We didn’t take the camera to the pool so here’s a shot of him in his suit.
This is a small swimmer, it isn’t that small is it?
Thanks again Rach for being such a great host, we love your family.
